The purpose of this Study are: (1) test the effect of Eco-Coaching in executive coaching. (2) examine and measure the outcome difference in managers’ mind-wellness and performance with both the normal coaching and the eco-coaching. (3) provide a process for evaluating how Eco-coaching could be adapted in corporations for enhancing the mind-wellness of staff. RESEARCH APPROACH, A QUALITATIVE DRIVEN PROCESS The Study is “qualitative” in that a comprehensive process in observing the managers’ response in behavior change relates to their mind-wellness and job performance. A reductive approach will be adapted to examine how Eco-coaching as the independent variable and its relationship with the dependent variables for managers’ mind-wellness and job performance. Literature Review Not yet done Study Objects Two groups of manager in a same organization will be randomly selected namely the treatment group and the control group to which Eco-Coaching and Normal Coaching will be given respectively. All Managers are within the age of 35-45 in age in random sex and has served for the company not less than 3 years. Observations in Coaching Meetings It will be a phenomenological approach which studying subjects over a period of time through developing relationships with them and reporting findings based on research "experiences." 12 sessions x 1 on 1 coaching will be conducted where specified observation form will be used to record qualitative findings. Qualitative Data The results of the qualitative research activities will be validated by the quantitative statistical data obtained from the mind-wellness questionnaire survey. Survey tool In addition to the coaching meetings, three questionnaires currently using by the Hong Kong Medical Authority in evaluating the mind-wellness will be used in measuring the status and change of each manager before, during and after the research period. The coaching demand potentials identified in this Study should be pursued utilizing for talent management as a asset and company strategy. Second, the results of the Study should help to stimulate the managers’ consciousness in their mind-wellness. A high awareness in personal mind-wellness as an effective instrumental tool for the wellness of the company. Lastly, the Study provides the corporation with a manager-development "vision" and, thus creates opportunities for staff retention and stability and growth. New company strategy , as well as staff management activities will improve the wellness state of mind and performance of managers.. Terms: Eco-Coaching : a natured-connected activity based on the theory of Applied Eco-Psychology (about 5-10 min) will be adapted prior to a formal coaching session (30-35min).
