PAPER GUIDELINES AUDITING The paper length should be 9-10 pages, double-spaced, excluding the cover page and the reference page. A cover sheet should include the name and a typed e-mail address. You should have 8-10 academic (peer-reviewed) references on your reference list. 1. Use 12 point courier or Times New Roman Font 2. Use one-inch margin in all directions 3. Every page should be numbered on top right 4. Credit for text derived from existing research must be credited to the appropriate reference. 5. In the text, works are cited as follows: Author’s last name and date, without commas, in parenthesis. For example, (Jones 1993) or with two authors (Jones and Smith 1995). 6. If an author’s name is mentioned at the beginning of a sentence it does not need to be mentioned at the end of a sentence. 7. Make an attempt to include some page numbers for the articles as follows (Jones 1993, 65). 8. If an article has more than two authors, you should reference it as follows: (Jones et al. 1996). 9. All cited works should be included in the reference. Also, you should not have an article on the reference list that you did not mention in the paper. 10. The reference section should be in alphabetical order as follows: For articles: Demski, J. S., and D. E. Sappington. 1989. Hierarchial structure of responsibility accounting. That excludes references such as the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fortune…… To make sure you are getting only academic references, check the box marked “peer reviewed” or “scholarly” in the databases before conducting your search. Make sure the box is always checked every time you use it.
