Be sure to provide the basic facts early in the review. Give the play’s title and author. and the theatrical company producing it, and the theater in which it is performed. 5. Give the names of actors in lead roles, and evaluate their performances How well cast do the leads seem? if an actor stAnds out-for good or ill-in a supporting role, he or she may deserve a mention as well. 6. Provide a brief plot summary. Your reader may be unacquainted with the play, and will certainly waiit a general sense of what it i. about. 1. Familiarize the theme of the play if it is unfamiliar. 8. Comment on the director’s work. Can you discern th director’s approach to the play? Do the actors hur then lines or do they speak too slowly? 9.
