DETAILED REQUIREMENTS During this module we have examined the logical disk structures employed by MS Windows. Through the use of the WinHex disk editing application we examined, in detail, the FAT file system contents of pen drives and how the file contents of such devices change during typical user file amendments. You are required to obtain an evaluation copy of WinHex and undertake a critical evaluation of the application’s overall functionality/capabilities. Your report must clearly identify your usage of WinHex during the evaluation process. You must support your evaluation by including an analysis of the changes to a pen drive’s FAT based file structures when a user formats, copies files to the device, amends file contents, deletes files and even employs folders ( sub-directories ) to organise the files. Such file structure amendments should use small text and jpg files in order to easily identify and discuss the changes which occur to the different parts of the logical disk structure 1.
