Assignment 3: Critical Review Word Limit: 900 You are required to undertake a critical review of ONE of the articles listed below. Your review must be presented using the following format: Introduction State the purpose of the review, including the title of the article that you are reviewing, and the sections that will be covered (see guidelines attached). Main Body This part can be divided into sections, using the subheadings from the attached guidelines. Be sure to answer all of the questions in the guidelines. Conclusion Conclude your report with a brief statement outlining each of your key findings/recommendations. Your review must be typed in 12 point Times New Roman font, with 1.5 line spacing. Rationale • Why is this research question important? • What is the public health significance of the study? • Is it of a public/environmental health benefit? • Will it inform policy? • Will it aid in the practice or implementation of a strategy? Method • Was the research basic or applied? • Was the research design qualitative or quantitative? • Did the study involve a case study/longitudinal study/cross-sectional study? Measurement • What was measured (attitudes, beliefs, service utilisation, bacterial growth, etc)? • How does the unit of measurement relate to the research question? • How did they measure it? • Did the authors use someone else’s measuring instrument(s)? • Did the authors create their own instrument? • Did the authors pre-test the measuring instrument? • Do you think the measurement was valid? Reliable? Sample • How many participants were involved in the study? • How were the participants recruited?
