This is for the final paper: 1. This document should be double spaced, 12 point font, and about ten pages in length. Thesis Statement a. Introduction (about 3 page in length) The introduction should have two subdivisions. The first, The Aim, will explain to the reader your purpose in writing. You need to clarify such ideas as “identity and cultural pride,” “social and cultural development of African American youth,” and “spiritual and social aspects.” Tell specifically what these terms mean. This section should also have a very clearly defined, but of course tentative, thesis statement. The second subdivision, The Approach, will clarify for your reader your research methodology. Mention the use of journal articles, books, and perhaps interviews with designated individuals. b. Body (about 5 pages in length) This section will provide the reader with an overview of the principle ideas of the body and how you intend to develop them. For example, the guide from Cynthia states, “Its primary purpose is to demonstrate the long tradition and importance of the African American Church in educating youth in both the spiritual and social aspects of life.” This will evidently be some type of historical survey. Please explain what will be the nature of the survey and what will be its principle points. Similarly, you need to discuss how you intend to examine the biography and contribution of Mary McLeod Bethune. c. Conclusion (about 2 to 3 page in length or) Generally, in the conclusion, the researcher does not introduce new material. This section should highlight the important points of the paper in developing your thesis. Bibliography is also needed. Duan Rounds
