A 2250 word case study which should include as many relevant contemporary (within last 12 months) examples as possible to back up findings. The case study can be on any area which has a ethical debate in the way in which the media portrays certain aspects of society. I would prefer this paper to be done on prisons in particular but I am flexible of the topics subject and someone else might see a more contentious therefore easier to write debate. the essay brief is as follows: You will be expected to produce a 2,250-word case study, agreed by prior arrangement with the tutor,(I need a title asap to agree with my tutor) on a case that raises ethical issues and has appeared in the (english) media within the past 12 months. All original material collected should be displayed and labelled clearly, and relate directly to the analysis. (This can be taken from newspaper websites. A good starting point can be the guardian online, the daily mail, the sun) At lest twelve sources should be used (this is an absolute minimum) . Assessment criteria • Understanding and application of relevant theory • Understanding of ethical issues • Clarity and fluency of writing • Ability to construct a logical and coherent structure, and a convincing sequence of points and arguments • Ability to integrate quotations effectively, cite sources fully, reference the work of others using the Harvard system and prepare a correctly laid out bibliography I need this back by at least the 13th April so I can rewrite the essay in my own style and add anything that might have been missed.
