As you have seen this week, there are a wide variety of evaluation methods and designs used in public health, and it is important to understand how to select the method or design that is most appropriate for the evaluation. Prepare for this week''s Discussion by reviewing the different evaluation methods discussed in Chapter 18 ( I don''t have the book, but if you still need it, let me know and I will see what I can do to provide it), such as the economic methods of cost-benefit, cost-utility, and cost-effectiveness analyses. Also review the different designs—experimental, quasi-experimental, and non experimental design. Select any one of these methods or designs. In what circumstances might you use this method or design? What would be the benefits and disadvantages of this approach in those circumstances?
