Task: Email from your manager: “I have just been asked by senior management for a report on the current activities of the personnel function, and how they might be improved. As you are studying for your CPP at the moment, I think it would be a good idea to delegate this to you. It would be an ideal development opportunity for you, giving you the opportunity to become thoroughly familiar with the personnel activities of the organisation, to apply your learning from the CPP to analysing current practise, and to impress senior management with your recommendations.” Write a report of 1500-words in which you should: •Identify and explain a range of personnel activities, and how they contribute to organisational success in your organisation(currantly working in a hospital in the HR department under the organization development department/traning) •Identify and explain some of the internal and external factors which influence these activities are conducted, and explain how these impact on your organisation (you could use PESTLE analysis for this) •For at least one area of personnel activity, e.g. training and development, analyse how effectively the activity is conducted (you could use SWOT analysis for this) •Draw conclusions from this analysis and make recommendations for possible improvements
