This research has been organized to help provide better understanding about young people and social exclusion also if the current government policies are sufficient in preventing young people from social exclusion. The review would focus on all young people between the age of 16 and 17 within UK. For the purpose of this review two domains of social exclusion would be focused on and there are: • Housing and homelessness • Education, Training and Employment While the above could be viewed as the main areas primarily associated with social exclusion however it does not cover all areas of social exclusion. Another area for discussion would be government policies on young people as the New Labour launched a host of policy initiatives which were aimed at tackling social exclusion amongst young people for instance Connexions hence the focus of the review would be from the time New Labour came to government. Aims of the review • The effects of government policies on young people • Are there barriers young people face when accessing services • Are there enough government policies in reducing number of young people from social exclusion Objectives of the review • Examine how policies are implemented across the nation • To find out the barriers young people face when accessing services • Examine how effective the government policies are in reducing the number of young people from social exclusion
