Successful e-commerce requires thorough and thoughtful planning. Everyone has ideas for possible e-business. Ideas do not get funding, however, without some plan behind them. Therefore, your major project for this course will require you to write a strategic business plan for an e-commerce business. Your research paper should be 15 to 20 pages long; this range does not include the title page, table of contents, bibliography, endnotes, or any attachments. Develop a plan for this business using the giudelines outlined in the Turban (Electronic Commerece) text- Chapter 14, and in particular page 646 0f the text. At a minimum, the following eight items are to be addressed: 1. SWOT analysis 2. Determining an e-business model for your business. 3. Addressing the critical success factors discussed on page 623 (also exhibit 15.13 on page 647) 4. Addressing the value analysis question whose discussion begins on page 631 5. Doing a minimum ROI analysis (page 630). 6. Developing a scenario for your business. 7. Determining what tools you will use to implement your strategy. 8. Developing evaluation factors for your e-business. You are free to address many of the other issues that Turban raises in chapters 14-17. I have just spelled out the minimum requirement in the above eight areas. The quality of your submission is in your hands.
