Explain the problem with most structures when a structure is designed it is designed for a specific use and often specific furnishings and finishes. The problem is that buildings have a life cycle and the infrastructure and safety systems tend to deteriorate (especially true of government structures). To add to this people bring in new and differing furnishings which change the fire load. Observe and evaluate a structure in your area and describe how the changes over the years since its construction and comment on the changes that makes to life safety and your fire department’s response.
