Your paper will be evaluated upon: (1) The depth of research in primary and secondary sources (i.e. primary source is a book Augustine wrote; secondary source is one written about him or his works). A good interaction with primary sources will certainly strengthen your research. (2) The quality of your argument and analysis, which would of course be based on an accurate presentation of facts. (3) Your ability to write with clarity including a commitment to grammar and punctuation. Please consult A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses and Dissertations by Kate Turabian (6th edition, University of Chicago Press, ISBN 0-226-81627-3) for proper form. Most notably the paper is to include a cover page, table of contents, appropriate documentation, a bibliography and must be between ten (10) and twelve (12) double-spaced pages in length. Although Turabian allows for parenthetical citation, students in this course must use either footnotes or endnotes.
