I want to show that Venezuela under Hugo Chavez is an important national security threat to the U.S. His influenze in Central and South America combined with many countries in the region turning or leaning toward socialism presents a economic and potential military threat to the United States. His reaching out to the enemies of the United States, i.e. Iran and North Korea pose a potential threat to the United States if he allows them to use Venezuela as a staging ground for terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.
