Knowledge Management System (KMS) This is to be a research paper that examines two KMS implementations by two organisations. One of these needs to be a successful case while the other a failed one. In stating ‘implementation’ this is done so broadly meaning there should be the inclusion of activities from initiation of the project to implementation and maintenance of the project. The following are the minimum questions that need to be addressed- • What was the background of the two projects? • How were the two projects initiated? • How were the adoption decisions made? • How were the two projects planned? • How were business requirements analysed? • How was the KM system designed? • How was the KM system implemented? • What happened after the implementation? • What are the success factors of the projects? • What are some lessons learned from the projects? There needs to be an application of relevant areas such as, IS/IT for competitive advantages, Strategic IS/IT planning, Evaluation of IS/IT investment, SDLC, current trends and best practises of implementation of CRM systems, among others. There needs to be a minimum of 15 clear references, with no more than 30% being electronic. The document needs to focus on clear communication. The following is the way that this needs to be laid out- • Title page • Table of contents • Introduction • Main body of report • Conclusions • Reference list • Any relevant appendices Referencing is to be as per the Harvard style of referencing.
