Final paper: This will be a 5-7 page paper (body of paper) that will present and compare two different viewpoints, within the Christian tradition, on one issue or question on the relationship of church and world. (For example, you could compare two denominations'' viewpoints on prayer in public schools, or on the participation of church members in military activity. You could also consider viewpoints on such things as ordination of women, abortion, modes of worship, baptism, etc.) The paper should place the religious viewpoints on this issue in some historical and theological perspective, and also include a brief presentation of your own view of the issue. The paper will count 100 points, and be graded in the following manner: 10 points = Title page (including: Title, date submitted, student''s name, course name, instructor''s name, university) 10 points = Bibliography (minimum of five sources, in addition to the textbook and the Bible) 10 points = Form (grammar, spelling, sentence construction, #12 font, double-spaced) 70 points = Body (considering whether assignment was adhered to, objectivity, and personal 100 points conclusion, length of paper, etc.) Paper is due May 1, 2009.
