What is a research project? this is an oppertunity for you to make choices about your particular interests and complete an extended investigation which will prepare you well for university. it allows you to follow up a speacialist interest and look at it either from a range of perspectives or within a particular subject discipline. if you are a business student you will be expected to draw on the concepts and perspectives of more than one subject (business and people management or buisness and economics). at the end of this unit, you will have demonstrated your ability to carry out an original, independant and individual investigation and produce an extended academic essay or report on your findings. How do i begin? your first task is to prepare a project pla with a title and outline of the investigation and the structure of the completed assignment which should then be agreed by the subject lecturers involved. the lecturer bwill negotiate the framework of your research and give you guidance. any investigation will usually include the following steps. 1. Area of interest this may initially be quite broad or you may have a fairly specific idea. you will need to have a clear focus. # is it going to keep your interest and motivation? # is it going to allow you to include the perspectives you want to include? 2. Background research what will you need to read and find out about before you go any further? how will you do this? did you include reading, talking to people, informal observation, gathering information and looking at statistics? how are you going to organise your notes / data etc 3. what secondary sources and primary sources will you use? it is important to include a summary of the literature already available in your area of interest and to refer to authorative authors or researchers in your field. # what research has already been carried out in your field? do your secondary sources include current material - when was it piblished? 4. Analysis this will be the most important stage in the assignment. even if you have gathered the information and valuable data and research material, u will not achieve a level 3 unless you analyse it. you will need to focus carefully on the question or hypothesis. wou will need to draw on the theories, the perspectives that you have encountered in your subjects during the course and in your reading. you will need to draw conclusions. 5. writing up the extended investigation the final stage of your work will be writing up your project to hand in. this seems a daunting task when u begin but can be much simpler if you remember the following: # organise the report/essay into clear sections before you begin writing. # do not write it in the order it will finally appear - it is easier to put the introduction afterwards. # include each of the above stages in the final writeup. # keep detailed notes of each stage. # draft some sections as you go along. # discuss what happened during the investigation - what were the successes and failures of the particular methodolgy you used. # summarise secondary sources keeping well focused on the relevance of what you are quoting. # keep accurate notes of your sources for bibliography and referances. inshort have to research on any topic of your choice related to business and people managemnet or business and economics. i have chosen a topic ( illegal immigrants affect jobs) or anything like that e.g ( should women be paid equal wages at work) please discuss the topic you want to chose with me. after researching according to the criterioa i have provided. you will write an essay or report of around 3000 words which will include all the stuff mentioned earlier. please give me a quote and how long will take if you can do this. also tell me how to pay for this adn whether the work will be guarenteed pladgerism free.
