Family businesses are striving for the continuity and growth in a competitive globl market. Many family businesses fail during transition from the first generation to the second, and even more fail during the transition from the second generation to the third. This failiure is the resul of several factors that vary from one family business to the other. (I would like to find out what are those facts and how do they affect each transition period). Family business incorporates more than 95% of the Egyptian business of which 30% succeed in the tranisition from first to second generation following 70% of failure from second to third generation. Researh reveals various factors tat have an impact on the succession in the world''s family business, yet, the factors affectiing succession in the Egyptian family business are still vague and lack studies.
