Essay Task: This Essay is to demonstrate an understanding of, and to think through, in terms of application, relevant theory and concepts into your own organisation or one with which you are familiar. It is to be a synthesising Essay, the purpose of which is to undertake reflective exploration with appropriate theory of your own role as either a leader of change or a follower/participant in the change process and to synthesise sceptically the theory and practice of leadership and change into the context either of your own organisation or to an organisation known to you. The Essay will be of about 3,300 words. You need to critically evaluate the implications of current ideas about the nature of leadership, organizations and the management of change in relation to your own experience. Your answer should penetrate beneath the familiar prescriptions and the more fashionable statements about leadership and the management of change. You should test your ideas against the background of: ? how you understand leadership and change management to be conceptualised and developed in your own organisation ?
