When I look back, I consider that the past two years of college life are what makes me proud. I have been a full time student and worker since I entered college. For the past two years, I have been working at three different places: French bakery, sushi restaurant, and Starbucks. Throughout my first year in college, even now, I run around like a chicken with its head cut off. This is my daily routine: after finishing work at Starbucks from four o’clock to nine o’clock in the morning, I go to school, and then work at the sushi restaurant at night. I also work at the bakery on the weekends. In the beginning of my first year, I was extremely overwhelmed; however, I decided to set a goal in order to motivate myself. My goals were to achieve high grade, learn work ethics and maintain a social life. Even though college life has been a daunting challenge, I achieved all of my goals and it has molded me into a strong confident independent female. In addition, I learned the meaning of a saying “there is nothing like spending a dollar that you’ve earned on your own.” I have three jobs and my studies to take care of, church activities, and clubs. Having maintained all this and having achieved high grade point average while paying for living costs with money that I’ve earned on my own does, indeed, make me proud. I believe that anyone in my shoes feels the same. I want to emphasize my endurance, perseverance and how it molded me into a strong person.
