This is not a descriptive paper. Instead, I want you to develop an idea about how it is best conceived or explained; set forth those ideas concisely and logically. Use personal experiences to illustrate ideas and two articles and use any psychology textbook or other ‘hard copy’ reference (book, magazine, etc.). These papers need to be clear, concise, and convincing. It should take a ‘stand’ on a concept as opposed to ‘describing’ the concept. In terms of structure: • It must have an introductory paragraph that should be very brief, certainly not more than three quarters of a page. • It must have a concluding section which summarizes the main ideas of the paper and their significance. • Feel free to structure the paper as you see fit, but let me emphasize that I strongly favor a logical and transparent structure (e.g., with subheadings). • Papers must be double-spaced, in 12-point font, with normal margins, and spell-checked. • It must have a title page which provides a comprehensive title.
