i choose walmart as my organization....but im not sure maybe you can choose a better organization.............. organization of familiarity--current or past employers, one that you have read about, etc. Assume this organization has some problems (or challenges if you prefer that perspective) that, if ignored or left unsolved would seriously hamper its effectiveness. Then write a mini-case study (about one double-spaced typed page) that contains the following: • Background of the organization (e.g., sector, size, mission, etc.). • A brief description of the key problems or challenges it is now facing (as perceived by you). • What, if anything, the organization has already done to try and solve the problems/meet the challenges which have proven less than successful. Then, based on your learning in this course, take one of these positions: 1) HRD needs to have a more prominent role in addressing these problems/challenges OR 2) HRD needs to have a less prominent role in addressing these problems/challenges. Then, write a “position paper” geared to one or more decision makers in this organization that provides a convincing and thoughtful rationale for the position you are taking. Assume the decision maker(s) know(s) little or nothing about HRD. You may draw on your own experience in writing this portion of the paper; however, you should also cite relevant portions of the course text and at least 5 of the articles read for other assignments in this course in order to strengthen the basis of your argument. This portion of the paper should be about 4-5 pages double-spaced using 12-point font and one inch margins, excluding a reference list (thus the total length of this paper should be about 5-6 pages excluding a reference list). Note: For the deliverable above, use in-text citations as well as a listing of references at the end of the paper. This will allow the reader to see exactly where in your papers you relied on each reference as well as assuring you have given appropriate recognition to others’ work in your work.
