In Raymond Carver''s ''What we talk about when we talk about love''and Robert Altmans''s adaptation of Carvers stories in Short Cuts, the focus is on relationships and their day to day qualities. To a large degree, we see how love endures despite the everyday quarrels, problems, personal issues, events, etc. that are a part of relationships or how love destroyed through those same issues. Using 3 specific exapmples from What we talk about we talk about love and 3 specific expamples from shirt cuts to descrobe how these stories illustrate the everyday qualities of love.(please not these examples are not limited to female and male relationships, but can be expanded into family relationships as well.) Attempt to describe how it is possible to gain a deeper understanding of human relationships by observing the "normality" in interactions as opposed to more dramtic interpretations that are often depicted in novels and film.
