Arguments from ignorance are not about weather the person making the argument is knowledgeable on the topic they are addressing, but rather when an argument from ignorance tries to prove something from a lack of evidence as in the above example. It’s important to remember, however, that the conclusion may be true. Aliens may not exist. However, the argument from ignorance is not sufficient to warrant this conclusion.
