Concisely - With regards to business ethics (from an Aristotelian perspective), how are they affected during the ongoing financial crisis. Is Corporate Social Responsibility compromised on as businesses located in the financial sector struggle. Is the pressure applied to behave ethically justifiable (from NGOs/Government/other political parties)? Is the crisis in part due to a lack of ethics in business or just stupidity/misinformation and miscommunication. Is CSR or appearing to have good business ethics a marketing ploy or does it appear to be genuine. Does it matter whether there is genuine concern. Is profit realised through CSR fair. Does fuelling the economy, creating jobs and promoting healthy competition alone constitue ethical business practice. Are organizations becoming increasingly important role models for the public with regards to demonstrating how to behave ethically (they weren''t before, but are they becoming increasingly important). How does all of the aforementioned relate back to the greek virtue ethic theory. Can they be applied successfully in a contemporary business context, do they provide any useful insight or are they too simplistic and outdated. Is there grounds for further research into this area.
