My life story 1. Essay for scholarships. It will be about my life and reason I deserve it. Born in Ethiopia (east Africa) third world country talk about how bad the living conditions were many death caused by starvation, health condition, living conditions…. My parents were only 18 and 17 years only when they had me. With only a high school education they could not raise me so I went to live with my fraternal grandmother from 3-9 years old. My parents were lucky enough to come to America to work and establish them before they send for me. When I came to America my parents put me in a private school not because they had money because they worked 2 minimum wage jobs each and we had one run down car in which my parents shared I remember when my father left his second job working at 7 11 store around 12 am my mother and I would go and pick him up from his job but because they wanted better for me then what they had. (Please expand on how I excelled in school from seeing my parents in that situation and remembering how I was raised in a third world country being harsh and intolerable helped my drive to excel) 2. I picked a career in health care because I have seen first hand the people who need it and what happens to those who can’t afford it. Talk about the importance of healthcare. I have always wanted to help those who are in a misfortunate situation. I have a grade point average of 3.7 in health care management at the University of Southern Illinois University. And I want to go to med school or be a nurse and make my parents proud of all their hard work in me and with my degrees contribute to the third world country. 3. Write about community services I do. 1. As a member of my church I help with collecting food and cloth to distribute them to the needy 2. I tutor math and reading to middle school students who are underprivileged 3. I have collected money by doing fundraising events (parties) and went back to Ethiopia with the money to help those who are in need with food building homes, books… 4. 5. Talk about that I need the scholarship because I work and go to school full time and I provide for my self and I also contribute money to my family back home. I work as a server which does not earn me enough money for books, tuition, living expenses and helping out my family back home. I
