The following is the Research Paper Critique A. Physiology (20 points) 1. What is the normal physiological process? 2. Describe the abnormal physiological process. 3. What causes this condition/illness? 4. How is this condition identified? B. Pathology (20 points) 1. How does the disease/illness present clinically? 2. How does the disease/illness present diagnostically? 3. What cells and/or organ systems are involved? 4. What is the prognosis? 5. What is the common mode of treatment or therapy? C. Epidemiology (20 points) 1. Who? 2. When? 3. Where? 4. Any predisposing factors or common links? D. Content (20 points) I will assess your paper for content and presentation. Questions I will address include 1. Are there any ‘holes’ in the information? Does the paper exhibit continuity? 2. Does the student appear to understand the information, or are they just quoting the works of others? Is the paper written in the words of the student? 3. Is the paper ‘readable’ – or does it just wander on…….? This portion is very subjective. Re-read your paper once it is written, and also ask other people to do so as well. Perhaps choose one individual that has some medical knowledge, and someone else who has very little. Seek input. E. Paper Overview (20 points) Papers are to be written in APA format.
