Take Notes-- read and take notes on two different electronic articles, and submit your notes for each one. The articles you choose should be a minimum of two pages long. You are required to use the Outline Method to take notes for one of the articles. Choose a different note-taking method (Cornell, Charting, Mapping or Sentence) to take notes for the second article. Your notes must be in your own words. You may not copy information word-for-word from the information provided in the electronic resources, as this is considered plagiarism. (Please review the Plagiarism Policy in the class syllabus or contact your instructor for more information.) Formatting Guidelines (based on APA guidelines): 1. Your notes for each article should be at least 1-2 pages in length 2. Submit both sets of notes using only one file labeled username-project-unit#.doc (for example, Joe Student- Project-Unit 7.doc.) In other words, do not submit two different projects. Both sets of notes should be submitted together, not separately. 3. Include a Title page 4. Use double-spaced text 5. Use Courier or New Times Roman font 6. Use 12 point font size Make sure to include a list of references at the end. Your references do not have to be in proper APA format, but they should provide your reader with enough information to find the electronic articles you used. Most online references include the author’s first and last name, the publication date, the title of the work, and the date retrieved. At a minimum, the following information should be included in your reference list: Author’s last name, Author’s first initial. (Year of Publication). Title of work. Retrieval date including month, day, and year. Online Periodical NOTE: For “source” you have two options: 1. Include the database name such as LexisNexis, Academic Search Premier, etc. 2. Include the actual URL of the site you used Be certain to test this URL before inserting it into your reference list. If it does not point exactly to the page with the source data, do not use it.
