For this project, you will analyze the theory and research within an area of personal interest to you. You will then use your analysis to design or extend a current intervention method or practice. To design the intervention, you will need to analyze the role that addictive and other compulsive behaviors play, both historically and in the context of contemporary society, in relation to the topic you have selected. Your analysis will also need to consider the context of human rights, ethnic and cultural diversity, and any legal and ethical considerations. You will critique the current trends in the diagnosis and treatment of the addictive and compulsive behaviors. From this critique, you will then propose a new intervention practice or method, or extend an existing one, that addresses the issues found with the current trends.
