The unit will seek to encorage an understanding of the social context of children''s learing and development in terms of families, communities, nurseries and schools, but also within a wider context of social inequality. it will also encourage the consideration of the nature of ICT, it''s social distrubution and use within the UK society and the present Government''s position on ICT in relation to teaching and learning. Learning outcomes Analyse the effectiveness of government initiatives and subsequent developments in terms of implementation of ICT. Constructively eveluate the impact of the social context on the effectiveness of ICT, as it relates to children''s learning and development. Demonstrate from a non-judgemental perspective how ICT resources can promote equality and opportunity for all pupils from a range of abilities.
