Description Behavior modification tactics examine the pressures of external environmental factors on an individual’s behaviors and uses wisdom principles to comprehend and change undesirable behaviors. Behavior Modification within an organization entails running the behavior of employees through a formal system of criticism and positive strengthening. Prior to starting, crucial time is spent communicating appropriate behaviors to employees. A measurement system is set up to trail behavior, and then response is administered based upon employee performance. To be effectual there must be a significant amount of casual positive reinforcement from an ongoing origin. To obtain information from secondary research I will analyze original research or experimentation in order to assess and draw my own conclusions as to the best behavior modification tactics. To obtain this information secondary research will be utilized to generate statistical data, writing without bias and preparing the capstone project. In the process of analyzing this data I hope uncover many relationships between different modification tactics and gain insight into behavior modification. I will be analyzing articles, books and papers to determine the most prevalent findings of these works that will be most pertinent to behavior modification tactics. I will provide an insight into behavior modification tactics within the workplace secondary research will be utilized using inferential statistics. This will help determine the power a priority bases on my anticipated results and definition of practical significance. This information will stem from related literature and not primary research of data collected. If I fail to reach statistical significance from secondary research then this analysis will be used to show that the findings did no stem from low power. Displaying carefully planned tables and graphs my analysis will help gain an understanding secondary data as they relate to the investigated problem. I will discuss and interpret data indicating the implication of my findings and presenting my recommendations. This scholarly research and rigorous analysis will be use to answer the following questions: 1. When using behavior modification tactics what types of positive reinforcement is used? 2. What types of training and performance based training is implemented to reinforce wanted behaviors and remove unwanted behaviors? 3. Have current behavior modification tactics been effective? 4. What behaviors are seen in employees before compared to the behaviors seen after the implementation date? 5. What types of motivation for employees is used? 6. Does the utilization of different behavior modification techniques on different employees based on their personality types? Personal Interest In today’s working environment it is important for managers to have effective behavior modification techniques. For me, being a successful manager means having a clear understanding of individual’s performance motivators. Because I am pursuing my Masters degree in Strategic Management it is of great importance to be able to fully understand my employees and be able to alter their unwanted behaviors through both positive reinforcement and negative punishment. I feel that it is of great importance to adjust behavior modification tactics based on different personality types. Researching different managers and styles will help determine which type of behavior modification tactic is best for each organization and employee. Methods of Gathering Information Using secondary research will be important to develop a full understanding of behavior modification concepts currently used in organizations and recommended modification tactics provided by secondary research. The following methods of gathering information will be used: Secondary Research Literature and electronic database searches of full-text articles for: 1. Techniques implemented by managers in today’s workplace. 2. Suggested reinforcement tactics for various personality types. 3. Different behavior modification techniques and the employment of each. I anticipate the following outcomes: 1. Managers will have different behavior modification techniques. 2. Suggest behavior modification techniques will not take into consideration different personality types. 3. Human Resource Managers will have a more positive approach to behavior modification tactics but will tend to keep the tactics used uniform for every employee. 4. Employees will feel they were not fairly treated when did not feel that behavior modification techniques were effective.
