The report should deal with the following issues-- these should form headings in the report; 1. What is & amp;quot;short selling & amp;quot;? What are the main provisions dealing with & amp;quot;short selling & amp;quot;? Outline what types of short selling are normally allowed and which ones are disallowed under the Corporations Act.? 2. What are the main arguments for and against allowing forms of & amp;quot;short selling & amp;quot; in the Securities Markets? 3. During the recent financial crisis ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission) placed further bans and restrictions on & amp;quot;short selling & amp;quot;. Under what authority could ASIC introduce these restrictions and what was the rationale? 4. what were the main consequences, effects and criticisms of these bans? The assignment should be typed and can be up to 10 pages of A4 paper (excluding footnotes, bibliography and the cover sheet) using 1.5 spacing and be clearly laid out. The last page should be a ful bibiography, reflecting all sources that were used during the research of the topic. Footnotes or end-notes should be used for the full citation of cases, books, journals or other sources.
