Its purpose is to inform potential readers, i.e. business managers, as to the content of the project including the findings and recommendations. The executive summary should cover the following areas: & #183; Objectives of the research & #183; Methodology adopted & #183; Findings, conclusions and recommendations. (Table of Contents), Each section should be numbered... (Introduction),Aims and Objectives – what it is you hope to investigate. With any piece of research there should be an aim or purpose and a set of objectives to achieve this. This is probably the most difficult part of the project, as it requires you to marshal your thoughts before you have done any detailed research. 2.Chosen area of study - and specifically what motivated you to choose this topic e.g. area of interest at work, future career plans, current business issue etc. 3. A brief explanation of your chosen methodology 4. A guide to the rest of the project i.e. the contents of each section ( Methodology), You should use this section to demonstrate that you thought about how you were going to do the research. You need to justify your choice of research methods by explaining why you have chosen them over and above other possible methods. (main Findings).Make it succinct and interesting. There are many ways in which you can present your findings and it is important to find a way of communicating these appropriately. (data analysis) , presenting tables or charts it is essential to mention the source of the data immediately underneath the figure...Assimilating your results – the best projects seem to present a findings section which includes secondary results, charts from surveys and quotes from interviews almost “seamlessly” to produce a clear and logical argument....(Conclusions and Recommendations).. When writing this section ensure that you return to your stated aims and objectives. Check carefully that your research, analysis of findings and conclusions relate directly to your stated aims and objectives. Sound projects are structured around a specific problem or question, which should automatically lead to the opportunity to make recommendations to relevant managers in your organisation. When setting up your project proposal try to phrase it in terms of a question that will result in a set of clearly defined recommendations...(Referencing and Bibliography)..using the harvard style...(Appendices)...this will be evidence work on motivation.
