Crtically compare the nature of light and sound identifying any key similarites and differences. Explain two types of waves - compare and contrast consicly longtitudinal and transverse waves, how they travel - How do we know they travel inwaves, speed, wavelength, how they a re detected, energy within - audio and electromagnetic spectrum between them. Compare diffraction, intereferance and polarisation in both light and sound waves - polarisation does not occur in sound waves why?. What evidence is there that enery is transmitted from different points. Why does sound travel better in solids less in water/air. How wavelengths are useful ie ultrsound, xray, quanta are big enough not to cause damage but have sufficent intensity to produce image on equpiment.
