research paper content choose your company or an organization or public figure you are interested in and describe a public relations problem for that company/person/organization. for example, your book describes the firestone/ford dilemma. it is now a classic pr case. walmart, enron, martha stewart, the air force academy, the u.s. government, paris hilton, menu foods and there are so many more in the papers these days. offer a summary of your findings from articles that have been written in the press to describe the situation. for example, what has been said publicly and by whom (you should be able to determine this through an article search)? what have the formal and informal company (or organization) responses been? what did the responses lead to? (more public scrutiny or less, advocacy groups getting involved, for example). prepare a timeline that offers a sequence of events or news. it is often helpful to offer a timeline of news articles and official releases that talk about the situation that you can easily research and find. analyze the situation. a description for the race analysis method is found in your book. you are to clearly identify each element of race (r=research--what is the problem or situation? a=action--what is going to be done about it?, c=communication(execution)--how will the public be told?, e=evaluation--was the audience reached & amp; what was the effect?) and use this as a framework for your analysis of this situation. what should the organization have done (given what you now know about public relations)? what would you have done had you been in charge of this pr effort? be sure to hit all of these points and offer a few concluding thoughts. this is not an opinion paper but rather a researched, factual documentary with your & quot;professional & quot; analysis and commentary. aim for at least 5-7 pages, properly formatted, in ap writing style, http://www.usu.edu/journalism/faculty/sweeney/resources/ap.htm , double spaced, pages numbered, grammar and spelling checked.
