Apply and critically analyse a Systems Approach to Information Systems change. Use your organization or an organization you are familiar with, as a context and to help to justify your argument. In your answer you should aim to: ? Undertake a Systems based analysis, including ? Developing a systems based diagnosis of the ‘situation’; ? Analyse one or more processes which are considered to be problematic from the diagnosis, using a range of Systems constructs; ? Consider the role of information in both (i) the process(es), and in (ii) the control of the process(es); ? Construct a proposal for change, including: ? Outline the changes that you would propose to make. This must be thorough, well researched, practical and related to your analysis (above); ? Analyse the cost-benefits your proposed information systems change; ? Analyse the resources in (i) the new processes, (ii) the process of changing one or more processes (e.g. knowledge, skills, time, money, etc) ? Identify the types of intervention you consider would be required to ensure that the change will work in practice. ? Evaluate the System Approach to Information Systems work. ? Develop a short self reflection on what knowledge you need to develop, in order to improve as an management practitioner when undertaking Information Systems change.
