You will act as a marketing strategy consultant to review the competitive pressures on a Specific product or service from three very different points of view. 2. It must contain analysis of the industry using the five-forces tool and a discussion of generic strategy options (Porter 1980a,b,c) in light of what you have discovered about the competition. 3. Analyzing the company and product from a resource based view, listing tangible and intangible assets as well as capabilities, summarizing how they create value and rating them as a source of competitive advantage using a Likert scale or other method of your devising. 4. Your final report will start with a brief introduction of the issues faced and include a concise chapter on each of these analyses, amended as you see fit in light of your expanding knowledge and illustrated with your slides, table and model. The portfolio will end with conclusions and recommendations that take into consideration the risks and options in an even more rapidly changing business environment. The final document should not exceed 3,000 words, excluding references, tables, and the appendices in which you must show the signed-off copies of your initial attempts. Use the Harvard notation system of in-text citations and reference list at the end. Assessment criteria for portfolio 1. The quality of the analysis of the case using each of the specified tools. 2. The professionalism of presentation of the document: consistent use of headings, and styles, the quality of writing and artwork. 3. The range of reading and critical appreciation of theory as evidenced in the analysis and referencing.
