Marketing Plan Format: 1. Prepare a cover sheet that includes: • Marketing Plan for (Company Name) • Student’s Name • Date • MKT 100 (and section number) • Again, the cover sheet is not included in the total page count for your marketing plan 2. The plan MUST follow this exact outline: • Executive Summary: Summarize the marketing plan in 6-7 sentences. Discuss the who, what, where, when, how, and why of the marketing plan. • Company Description: Discuss the history of the company - when it was founded, who the owners are, what the products/services are, and why they are unique. • Mission and Goals: What are the financial and non-financial goals of the business? • Core Competencies: What does the company do well, and how does it plan to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage over the competition? • Situation Analysis: What is the current marketing environment? What is are the most recent trends in this industry? • SWOT Analysis: Discuss the a) Strengths, b) Weaknesses, c) Opportunities, d) Threats of this business. Create a SWOT chart to display this information as displayed on p. 69 of your textbook. • Competition: Answer the following questions: What companies are the existing competitors for this business? Is the number of competitors likely to grow? How will you grow your business in spite of the competition? • Target Market: Answer the following questions: What is the target market? Include a demographic analysis. Why do you think the company''s products/services will appeal to this group of consumers? • Marketing Mix: a) Product, b) Price, c) Place, d) Promotion. What marketing strategies, tools, and campaigns will the business owners use to market its products and services to the target market? • Financial Analysis: Discuss the plans to finance and grow this business, and use charts, graphs, and/or tables to display the following information: a) Sales Forecast, b) Monthly Expense Budget, c) Monthly Marketing Budget. • Keys to Success: Discuss how this business will succeed given a) its core competencies, b) current trends in the industry, c) current or new marketing strategies to grow the business. Paper Length: Your plan should be 8-10 pages in length, and each page of the plan should contain text from top to bottom of the page. Do not enter page breaks or extra spaces between sections of the plan - this is unacceptable. Do not include the cover page in your page count. Paper Format: The paper should be double-spaced; Times New Roman font, 12 point font size; 1-inch margins on each page.
