This is a persuasive research paper. I am telling how increasing amounts of violence in the media has a direct effect on the amount of violence people do to other people. Media includes movies (recent and old ones), television shows, and video games. I am also saying how the violence in the media has caused a lot of imitation violence that often occurs in society. The paper will say how by placing a limit on and restricting the amount of violent acts that are shown in movies and on television, it is highly likely that less and less people will be victims of some form of violence in their lifetime. The paper will give evidence of serial kilings and copycat murders in the media, with examples. It will show that there is not enough accountability for perpetrators, and say why exposing young children or pre-teenages to movie and/or television violence is not healthy, and provide statistics that show what happens to their value systems when their value and moral systems have not yet been fully formed. It will also show challenges that some people have-such as there should be no repurcussions for committing violent acts, and people should be able to do anything they want to do. The paper will say that the amount of violence that is shown on movies and television does indeed have a huge bearing on the amount and kind of violence people often engage in. It will show the changes in the amount of violence that has happened in past decades and more recent decades. This paper is to be done in third person, and in APA format.
