The United States Presidential election of 2008 will be held on November 4, 2008. Yet, the citizens of US do not directly elect the president. They indirectly choose the president which means the president of the U.S.A. is chosen by the electoral college. It is quite complicated and interesting because the election system in the U.S.A. sometimes allows a candidate who receives fewer popular votes to win an election. In fact, there have been several presidential candidates who won popular vote, but lost election because they received fewer electoral votes. Perhaps, the election system is difficult to understand.
