politcal arguement sexual harrasment Refers Katha Pollitt article Kissing Telling
Usually for a paper on topic " politcal arguement sexual harrasment Refers Katha Pollitt article Kissing Telling " students requires the following specifications to be included. These specifications are directly collected from leading academic writing companies and used without editing.
You will need the Matlin Cognition 6th edition textbook (ISBN: 0-471-45007-3). I also will need the pdf file or at least make sure i can get a pdf file of the research article you picked. Do not pick a conceptual article or I will not accept the paper as being correct. Thank you.
The purpose of the paper is threefold: 1) to expose you to research published in respected journals, 2) to familiarize you with the basic structure of a research article (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Statistics, etc.), and 3) to help you work on your writing skills in APA (American Psychological Association) format.
**Your papers (word doc only) will be submitted ONLINE
Your paper will be a review over a topic in cognitive psychology. Within the paper you will be required to review a research article published in a referred journal. The journal article must be from your Matlin Textbook. The article must be submitted in pdf format with your paper. Therefore, if our library doesn''t have the article in pdf format, then find another article that does. **Research articles are different than conceptual papers because actual studies are conducted. That is, hypotheses are made, experiments are conducted and data is collected. With conceptual papers, a certain theory is set forth based on past experiments. You need to review a RESEARCH article for this class.
I give an example of both in this folder.
In sum, the primary article that you do your paper on needs to be in your 1) textbook, more specifically, from the references from pp. 510-578. Also, it needs to be a 2) research article. Notice that reasearch article example has its own research participants, hypotheses, results, discussion, etc. Some of the articles between page 510-578 are conceptual articles and/or review articles. That means that talk about other researchers'' work, but do not offer their own research findings. The ironic effects article in this folder does NOT work. The sample paper example DOES work (accept you can''t use that article, because it is the sample paper article). Make sure you''ve read everything in your syllabus and potential additional paper announcements before emailing me questions about the paper.
*Also, if you do not use a research article as defined above, you will lose at least 10 points on your paper. Assuming the article is listed between 510-578, I will look at it and tell you if it is a research article or not if you email it to me as an attachment.
The following paper breakdown is taken straight from your syllabus; however, it may be easier to read off the syllabus itself:
Paper Breakdown:
Format = 1 inch margins (top and bottom), 1.25 inch margins (left/right),
double-spaced, 12 point font, Times New Roman,
APA format and citing (format that your text book uses)
Title Page (Page 1). You are required to write your name, the title of your paper, the article you are reviewing, the author(s), the journal it is from, the year, and the page numbers.
Paper Body
Statement of the Problem: The first 1/2 page should be the statement of the problem. This part of the paper should give me a clear idea of what you will be writing about.
Review of Research and Theory: This part of the body should be from 2 1/2 to 3 pages long. You should review past research concerning your topic and pertinent theory.
Hypothesis and Rationale: You should then set forth the hypothesis or hypotheses (if more than one) from the article that you choose to review and should offer an explanation or a rationale regarding the makeup of the hypothesis. This part of the paper should be approximately 2 1/2 to 3 pages long.
Experimental Procedures: The experimental procedures should then be discussed. Describe what the authors did in their study (i.e., participants, task, variables of interest, etc.). Within the procedures, you will be required to identify the major independent and dependent variables (**Remember: An independent variable is the variable of interest that is usually manipulated and the dependent variable is the measure(s) used). The experimental procedures should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2 pages in length.
Results: The general findings should then be discussed. You don''t need to get too specific (see my paper example), and you can use up to one figure or table if it makes the results easier to understand. The results should be approximately 1/2 to 1 page long.
Discussion and Conclusion: The last part of the body should concern the author''s general discussion and conclusion from the study. You should discuss the implications from the study and how it related to previous research.
Reference Page:
You will need to provide at least 10 references (1 to 2 pages) for your paper, in APA format (i.e., use the format from the back of your textbook).
