Directions for Paper: Read the Case (Creating Jobs for Improved Performance: THe Coca-Cola Way pages 490-491) (Please be advised that this case can be pulled up on goggle) at the end of Chapter 14.pdf (attachment) and answer all of the Discussion Questions 1, 2and 3 at the end of the Case. In order to answer the questions effectively you will have to apply any of theories stated throughout Chapter 14 in this paper in your response to the Discussion Questions. Remember, the paper must be 3 pages long, APA style and include a reference page which would be this text book as the only reference. Cases: . You must select and prepare three out of the seven cases listed on the course planner. . To analyze a case, answer the discussion questions that appear at the end of the case. . Each answer is typically several paragraphs. . To receive the best grade, you must use organizational behavior terminology appropriately and provide thorough explanations and drawings as needed, on case specifics and chapter content. Content Guidelines Cases are not meant to be a forum for your general opinions. They are designed for you to demonstrate mastery of chapter concepts by describing all the applicable theoretical concepts (in correct terminology) and providing an assessment of how case situation details can be explained or better understood in light of each specific concept. The result should be that the author and reader can better understand the theoretical terms and ideas with the benefit of an illustrative case situation that has been carefully mapped to each concept. Remember to comment on both the big picture view and the specific details and approaches. Do not assume that the instructor or other audience knows anything about the case subject or relevant theory. If you make a brief statement that is not explained, the reader may get off-track and the grader will have to assume that you don''t know enough to elaborate the point. Similarly, if you make a generalized statement, the instructor will have to assume that you only have a superficial understanding and are unaware of the details and the specific situations that it does and does not apply to. Your answer should be clear enough for someone''s grandmother to understand, and persuasive enough to convince a stubborn adversary. Treat these cases with the same rigor and approach as research papers, with thoroughly documented evidence for each assertion that you make. Your arguments should be based on the theories and terms in the chapter material matched to the specifics of the situation described by the case. You should observe specific details described in a case situation, find parallels to established theory (in the textbook or another reliable source), and suggest linkages that account for the results you see in the case. When the theories and evidence comes from an outside source ( e.g., course textbook, research article, etc.) you must give credit in a references section and with properly formatted citations and quotations. Imagine that the case responses are arguments in a court of law-tell the story and back it up with factual specifics; leave out the details at your own risk. It helps to clearly explain the specific theories as a foundation for building the evidence and drawing conclusions in your case. This is not just about having the right answer; it is also about demonstrating your knowledge of all the relevant theories (including explanations for the ones you ruled out), and finding all the ways that various aspects of the case apply to the alternative theories and possible conclusions. You are expected to use proper writing techniques and correct course terminology in your answer. This becomes essential in order for you to be specific, detailed, and accurate in your comments. As a part of this precision you should avoid grandiose statements, exaggerations, and statements that generalize certain case conditions to other situations. Even if a cause-and-effect relationship seems to be true in one case situation, you cannot make the general statement that, for example, happy employees are more productive, unless you cite data to support your position. Every situation is different and an effective set of policies for the given situation may or may not work elsewhere.
