I saw 6 possible parts for my thisis: 1) New leisurely experience of watching TV 2)A new way against internet piracy(movie downloading) 3)The video game industry 4)The TV industry(movies,series, tv show). To what extent will it accompany this 21st century technology 5)A new potential attractiveness for the 7th art(every hollywood movie will be using 3D in 2009) 6)An affordable technology for consumers? Niche market or global market? Summary Technology has improves at a fast rate in the last years especially in the multimedia industry. Companies such as Sony, Philips, LG… and others have had to increase their budgets in R & D to try to be ahead of their competitors and have a comparative advantage that will mean a gain in market shares in this very competitive industry. We can say that most people in developed countries have at least one TV at home. People(the market) is very receptive to new technologies, as people in France have been very keen on buying flat TV screens to replace the old ones. 3D TV is a much bigger improvement as it will give people a completely new feeling,a new sensation when looking TV. But is this too recent? As people just bought very expensive TV sets these last years, will they be able and wanting to buy a new pricy technology? Some experts think so, TV is still the most popular media even after the arrival of the internet, which is widely used by the under 50’s but not so much by the elderly. Television is still far away from the biggest “advertising window” in the world, 3D television might just be another way for companies to communicate their products. This technology doesn’t just concern as we can see the companies that produce TV sets, but the movie industry as well, TV channels, video Games…. That is why I am convinced that this new technology might generate a huge revolution in our living room as much as in the global economy. I am in a BBA program and my subject was about high tech/ New technologies. It is important to keep a business perspective about this thesis. I am in my fourth and last year, I will define my self as a B grade student.
