You will direct your paper toward the solution of this mystery- so make sure you have enough concrete evidence to make an argument of some sort! The thesis statement should suggest one of the following: 1)tha one theory is more likely than all others 2)that one theory is the least likely of all that you have found 3)that one theory is exactly what happend. 4) despite all that we dont know, we can be certain that one particular theory is not what happened 5)that despite all of the evidence that we do have, we still dont have enough to come to a positive conclusion Your ultimate point is to prove your point to your audience, which wants to believe or perhaps definitely does believe, in a different theory than the one you have chosen. Whatever your topic you have nowhave discovered that there are alteast two sides to it which makes it an issue. Based upon your research and powers of logic you will decide where you stand on this topic- then you will proceed to argue using the evidence that you have collected, as well as your argumentative skill, in attempt to prove that you are right!
