Overviews of the Simplified Dissertation Structure. Title Theoretical/academic Practical 1. Introduction (This is a review of the contents that will appear in the subsequent chapters.) 2. Review of the Literature (Theory relating to one characteristic of the selected entrepreneur, for example motivation, leadership, approach to change, innovation, invention,.) 3. Practical Section (This part is about the business life of the selected entrepreneur in the context of the theory selected in 2 above) 4. Analysis (This part discusses the extent to which the selected entrepreneur coincides with the selected theory, in other words, what insight does the selected theory give us into the business life of the selected entrepreneur.) 5. Conclusions (This is a brief discussion of the findings from 4 above.) 6. Bibliography (Remember to use the Harvard referencing style.) 7. Appendices (Material in this part does not form part of the word count, and it is not marked) Writing Style A good source of reference for writing style is the “Essentials” booklet published by the Learning Centre. You must use the Harvard referencing style and this is explained in the booklet (you probably have a copy already, so only request one if it’s “essential”!) Secondary Research Only All the material in this work must be secondary only. You must not attempt to contact any business or entrepreneur for information. You are limited to the resources of the library and the Internet (you will find that these sources are more than sufficient). Presentation Ensure that the work is well presented and is in accordance with the dissertation brief. 1. Print on single sided paper. 2. Double space the work or follow any set out regulated spacing. 3. Ensure that there is good grammar and spelling throughout. 4. Neatly present the final work.
