ASSESSMENT- DETAILED REQUIREMENTS The following definition of a multimedia system has been found on the Web: Systems that support the interactive use of text, audio, still images, video, and graphics. Each of these elements must be converted in some way from analog form to digital form before they can be used in a computer application. A friend has asked your advice regarding the purchase of a computer system suitable for running multimedia applications and also for connecting to the Internet. You have been asked to find two systems: one the cheapest that will run most of the basic multimedia applications and one top of the range machine that will do all that is likely to be required in the near future. If possible these should be from the same manufacturer to make comparisons easier. You are to write a report that a) sets out the specifications of the two machines and explains the meanings of the specifications b) highlights the major differences between the two specifications c) explains the operation and limitations of the main input output devices for the system d) explains in simple terms how the connection to the Internet can be achieved The report should be word processed and present your findings concisely. All sources of information must be fully referenced and full URLs of all Internet sources must be given.
