Step 1 – Context of the Problem - In past employment I have encountered problem with healthcare plans and the benefits that come with the plans presented by Human Resources and when trying to address these problem with HR at hand no avenue to have these issue address or a represented of HR in place to contact the healthcare provider on my behalf. The intention of this research is to conclude how human resources provide healthcare to employees and how the decision made by HR has affected the employees and does the healthcare adequately meet their needs. Step 2 - Statement of the Problem - Human Resources are instruments use to decide appropriate healthcare plans to employees of a business. In this review I will show the relationship between human resources and healthcare and the bearing it has on employees. Human Resource is vital to the execution of healthcare plans to employees and has a responsibility to present the best plans feasible to the employee. Step 3 – Research Question/Hypothesis and Subquestions/Subhypothesis. The purpose of this research is to determine how human resources provide healthcare to employees and how the decision made by HR has affected the employees and does the healthcare adequately meet their needs. To answer this question, the following sub questions will be addressed: 1. Should employees have a say in determining healthcare needs? (Qualitative) 2. What problems if any have came about when including employees in determining healthcare needs? (Quantitative) 3. What step are taken by HR to address the healthcare needs of it employees? (Quantitative) 4. What systems are in place for HR to address inadequacies that subscriber face within the healthcare provider chosen by HR? (Quantitative) 5. What steps if any has HR taken to resolve inadequacies within the chosen healthcare plan? (Quantitative) Step 4 – Significance of the Study This case study is important because it recognizes the impact the Human Resources has made on determining the healthcare needs of employees. This study will help clarify the impact that HR has on employee benefits and the need to include the employee in the decision making process. This research is important because it will add to the growing knowledge base about how HR is a major determinant in the workplace. Another consideration of the significance is that more can be learned about how HR can play in a success and to circumvent inadequacies in the beginning. From a quantitative perspective much will be learned on the need for employee say in determining their healthcare needs. Step 5 - Research Design and Methodology In this study I will be using the triangulation research design because my analysis contain both quantitative and qualitative data that substantiate the needs for employees to have a voice when Human Resources is deciding benefits for healthcare needs. By using this design it will allow full access to prove my studies validity.
