My extracurricular activity consists of me doing Hapkido, Taekwondo, and Kum Yae Do all in one program at Iron Dragon. This extensive program consists of dynamic striking and kicking techniques, takedowns, extensive joint locking techniques, pressure points, sweeps, Olympic style Sparring, and traditional Korean sword Art. The martial art also involves systematic training and stamina exercise, which helps improve my health. In addition, the program provides positive benefits of self defense and confidence, develop coordination and increases strength and flexibility, and because a structure of respect is built into karate, I can develop the ability to listen and learn and achieve within a highly regulated environment. This provides to be an excellent reinforcement of study techniques for my school habits. Participating in this activity, I experienced for the very first time that I felt confident about the work that I put forth. I recognized that anyone can do hard work, but it takes appreciation and commitment to do your best. It was when I did my best did I ever gain satisfaction. That is why I was honored to join the Leadership Program that they had to offer me.
