P1 produce a poster showing the reasons why children and young people may need to be looked after away from their families. You can do this in the form of a spider diagram or a list. P2 list the current legislation that would affect how you care for children and young people and for each, briefly explain the purpose of the legislation. P3 produce a booklet or leaflet. a) This should contain a list of the main organisations that provide care for children and young people. These can be from different sectors, e.g. NHS, non-profit making. b) State what these organisations do, and the type (including age and location) of the children or young people they look after. c) Within the booklet/leaflet, list the types of jobs people employed within the organisation may do and include a brief description of the type of work they do and the qualifications needed to obtain the position. P4 Describe signs and symptoms of child abuse. P5 a) Write a report on how you would address this suspicion. P6 How would the child/young person and their family be suspected as a result of this? M1 choose two organisations (hospital, care home). As you come into contact with children there are policies and procedures that would govern the work you do. M2 How will the policies and procedures in place help the child or young person in your care and their families whilst the young person/child is being looked after? What are the positive aspects of these policies and producers and is there anything missing or any aspect that needs improving? M3 imagine there is currently a case of abuse being investigated. What methods are there that will minimise possible risk to the child/young person? Explain how they do this. D1 as a carer the needs of the child or young person are always paramount (most important). Evaluate how legislative rights of the child/young person and their families reflect this. D2 a) List and explain a variety of methods and strategies to support children and their families when abuse is suspected or confirmed. b) How effective are they? What is good about them what needs to be improved?
