term paper rubric each student should write a research paper 6 pages in length (double spaced, 12 point font). the paper must be on one of these five new testament books: galatians, ephesians, philippians, 1 peter, or 1 john. the paper should discuss the following topics: • authorship • time and circumstances surrounding the writing of the book/letter • culture of the time / city / region • main characters and themes in the book • the “then and there” original meaning of the key issues or principles • the “here and now” application to modern life of the key issues or principles • how this book has impacted your life please do not even try to just copy something from the internet!!! we have easy methods of finding this out, and you will get an automatic zero for the assignment. this is not so much of a big heavy research paper, as it is meant to get you into the actual bible text yourself, to figure out and apply meanings of the bible to yourself. i do want you to check a few books though, just to get your ideas flowing. so you should consult at least two other printed books besides your course textbook and the bible itself. include these sources in a simple bibliography. a maximum of two internet sources may be used. if you quote from the bible, just put the biblical book, chapter and verse in parentheses afterwards (e.g., 1 john 1:15). all other citations must follow mla guidelines . You will receive a zero for the assignment if you plagiarize anything and will be reported to the Dean of Students.
